Chapter 16 Summary

Pitt regains consciousness and finds himself face to face with Delphi. He finds out that he and Giordino were caught in the power turbines' current. It is the heating and cooling system in the caves that create the fog on the surface. Delphi's men have found Giordino and the plane. Delphi demands an explanation and gets nothing meaningful from Pitt. A quick glance at his watch reveals that there is fifty minutes until the excitement begins: the Maui transmitter will be hit along with the seamount being attached by the Monitor. Pitt knows there is very little chance of getting out alive.
