Verity

Verity symbolizes chaos and violence. The people in Prosperity view Verity as a taboo subject since it has become so overrun with monsters and cut itself off from contact with the rest of the world. Once Kate returns to Verity, she witnesses the disorganization of leadership both within the FTF and Sloan’s reign.

The Seam

The Seam is a marker for leadership change between North and South City. Refugees from North City must stop in the Seam before they can find safety under the FTF. While North City values survival of the fittest, South City offers safety with sacrifice and the Seam is a direct representation of the jarring change between these two philosophies.
