Kate Harker

Kate Harker is the teenage daughter of Callum Harker, the former leader of North City. Kate tried to win her father’s approval for years. Yet, six months before the start of the novel, she realized how power-hungry and corrupt he was. At the end of This Savage Song, she lets August kill her father and she kills Sloan, the Malchai who hoped to overthrow Harker’s reign. Around this time, she also murdered a man, out of fear, which resulted in the birth of a new Malchai, named Alice. Kate fled Verity and went to Prosperity, which is where the novel begins.
