Summary

In “Prelude,” a monster was born from a murder in the Waste. She found another monster, who had been nearly killed during a battle. Verse 1, called “Monster Hunter,” began with Chapter 1. In the city of Prosperity, Kate Harker ran away from a monster that chased her. She communicated with her new friends through an earpiece. She switched her earpiece to play music as she killed the monster. She returned to the Control feed and sent them a picture of the gory corpse. Riley voiced his concern for Kate, but she pretended to be fine. In Chapter 2, Kate returned to Riley’s apartment, where she had been staying while he lived with his boyfriend. She took a shower and looked at her scars. She thought about the memory of her first kill and how she had become a monster to please her...
