The world has changed since the World War II years, and so has the power structure among nations. England and France are no longer as dominant as they were and the Arab world is more important in terms of politics and economics. There are a variety of representations that are used that are the subject of this part of the chapter. The first that can be defined are popular images and social science representations. These have to do with how the Arab is represented in terms of dress. This refers to the Arab robes, headgear, and sandals.
