Cal and Beth are in Texas, having an enjoyable visit with Beth's brother. Both of them feel happy about a chance to escape the issues at home for a while. On the plane, Cal had tried to talk with Beth about her conversation with Nancy, but she insisted that she did not want to talk, just to get away and have a good time.
