Chapter 24 Summary

Cal and Beth go on their trip to Texas for the golf tournament. Conrad stays with his grandparents. Although he would have been delighted to stay home alone, his father wouldn't hear of it. At dinner, Conrad's grandmother questions him about his grades, his hair, and his appetite. Later, he has a date with Jeanine. He picks her up at work and takes her to her house to change so that they can go to a movie. When they get to Janine's house, her mother has a guest: a man who is taking her out for dinner. She asks Jeanine and Conrad to stay home with Jeanine's brother. They agree, but Jeanine.....
