Chapter 21 Summary

Cal tells Beth about his idea to play in the golf tournament in Texas. He suggests that they could stay with Beth's brother and sister-in-law, allowing Beth to visit them. Beth agrees to write to her brother about these plans. Cal remembers a trip he and Beth took to Spain. He recalls how happy they seemed to be, in spite of the fact that Jordan was already dead and Conrad was in the hospital. He also thinks back to how his mentor, Arnold, wrote him off when he married Beth.
