Chapter 18 Summary

Conrad has final exams. His first test is in English, and his mind initially goes blank. He eventually gets himself together and manages to finish up the exam. As he is leaving, he spots Jeanine, and he works up his nerve to talk to her. He offers her a ride home in his new car so that she doesn't have to walk in the cold. During the drive, he finds out that she knows about his brother's death and his suicide attempt. She tells him that it's no big deal, and that people have done worse things.
