Chapter 13 Summary

Cal and Conrad buy a huge tree for Christmas and put it up in the living room. Beth comes home and informs them that she heard at her meeting that Conrad quit the swim team over a month ago. Conrad tells his mother that he's sure he would have told her if he thought she gave a damn. A huge fight erupts. Conrad's mother tells him he embarrassed her and lied to her, and he responds by telling her that she has never cared about him. He says that she never came to see him in the hospital because she was too busy traveling the world.

Conrad goes upstairs, and Cal tells Beth that somebody should go talk to him. Beth accuses Cal of letting Conrad walk all over them and then apologizing to.....
