Chinonso Solomon Olisa

Chinonso is the novel’s protagonist. He is a poultry farmer living in the Nigerian city of Umuahia. The novel begins circa 2007, when Chinonso is about 30 years old. His parent shave been deceased for years, and Chinonso has never had a serious romantic relationship. He leads a generally lonely life, but he very much enjoys his work. One day, he persuades a woman on a bridge not to kill herself.

A few weeks later, he reconnects with the woman—whose name is Ndali—by chance. Chinonso and Ndali soon fall in love.
