The Emerald Lodge is the principal setting of "The Prospectors," which takes place in the 1930s. The lodge is in a ski resort in Lucerne, Oregon. Clara and Aubergine ride a chairlift at the beginning of the story with plans to attend the opening of the Evergreen Lodge, but find themselves in this ghost world instead.
