Summary

Chapter 2, entitled “Tuesday,” takes place on the Tuesday of Riggle’s suspension from school. In narration, Riggle reveals that his father was a trucker. When Riggle was six years old, his father’s truck crashed, killing his father. Riggle’s mother was emotionally devastated by the death. Riggle then recalls his mother telling the story—through Remote—of how Tuesday received its name. Remote wondered if each type of endeavor could begin and conclude within the span of a day. He asked a warlord named Tues to try to defeat a nation in a single day. Tues’ army was unable to do so, but Tues observed that his army fought harder when they thought that the war would only last one day. In honor of this observation that life should be approached one day at a time, Remote named a day of the week...
