Chapter 16-17 Summary
Richard and Leslie are back in the Growly again looking for any pattern that might get them home. They wonder if they will spend the rest of their days trying to find the way. Richard tries to navigate this time and they find themselves in a hotel room looking at an alternate Richard in another room. Leslie urges Richard to go and talk to the man. Richard does and finds that the man is so depressed because the alternate Leslie, his wife, threw him out of the house. Richard tries to comprehend. He and Leslie have had bad times in the past but have always survived as a couple.
The man begins to talk about all of the little things that caused the problems in his marriage. He is very bitter because the alternate Leslie has time for nothing but work and the alternate Richard can't keep up with her....
