Beatrice “Bea” Schumacher

Bea Shumacher is the main character and person that the narrator follows during the normal written sections. Bea is a plus-sized fashion blogger who got into the concept after a trip to Paris in college shows her that she can feel beautiful despite her size. However, this causes Bea to sometimes shame women that are smaller than her, and she often wonders if she would be happier if she lost some weight.

Bea treads a very thin line between body positivity, where she is confident with herself and her size, and deep insecurities. The reader sees this first on her boat date for the show where she is forced into a bikini.
