Summary

In Part Three, "New School," Chapter 22, Pooh picks Bri and Malik up. Bri begs Malik not to tell anyone what happened. Wanting to get revenge on the Crown, Pooh drops Bri at home. In her room, Bri worries Pooh will kill the Crown, worrying for his family and fearing for Pooh’s life. She texts Pooh without response.

In the morning, Bri discovers the electric has been shut off. She wishes she had pawned the pendant. Pooh still has not responded.

In Chapter 23, on the bus, Sonny says Malik is staying home because of his injuries. Bri feels guilty. At school, the halls are filled with armed cops.

That night, Grandma and Grandaddy visit. Jay insists they are fine. After noticing the electric, Grandma thinks Jay is incapable of caring for her children; she says Trey and Bri should live with...
