Friendship

Friendship is an important theme in the novel “On a Clear Day” by Walter Dean Myers. In the novel, Friendship proves to be an important and crucial determining factor in the success of the American Resistance and in Dahlia’s own life. When the novel begins, Dahlia not only feels as if her life has no purpose, but she feels as if she has no friends. With her mother and aunt both dead, she feels truly alone. She spends a lot of time alone by herself in her room not only because she is depressed, but because she has no real friends to spend any time with.
