Summary

Chapter 11 – Anja explains to Dahlia that Mei-Mei is competing with Dahlia and that Mei-Mei only ever feels as good as her last chess win. Anja knows she herself has a big heart but worries about her intelligence. Dahlia reassures Anja that she is indeed intelligent.

Chapter 12 – The Resistance heads to Edgware Road, to the Arabic section of London. Javier cannot attend the meeting for there is no wheelchair access. Zayad is no more than twenty years old, and says he commands around twelve-thousand terrorists. He has great ambitions, and believes the resistance is all talk. The meeting ends soon after, with Michael revealing to the others that it was clear Zayad merely wanted to impress them, and that there was a coldness to him.
