Chapters 13-19 Summary

Two years pass. Philip is a good student and has won many awards. Soon he will advance to the higher grades and will be head boy in his class. However, Philip has also grown very self conscious. Philip is very conscious of his club foot at all times and this makes it difficult for him to make friends. During this time Philip becomes deeply immersed in religion, praying every day and reading his Bible constantly. During a break from school, Philip discusses a passage in the Bible with his uncle that suggests if one prays hard enough God will move mountains for him. For a week Philip prays every night before he goes to bed that his club foot will be healed. When this does not happen, Philip asks his uncle why. Uncle.....
