Fortune

Stormy and Odd received a fortune from a fortune-telling machine that declares they are destined to be together forever. Stormy has framed the slip of paper and placed it beside her bed.

Bodachs

Bodachs are shadow-like beings that only Odd Thomas can see. These shadows seem to be attracted to large scale tragedy, such as the collapse of a building, where there is a large number of casualties. Odd Thomas is afraid to allow these creatures to know he can see them because the only other person he was ever aware who could see them was killed moments after naming them aloud.
