NW

NW is a neighborhood in London. It is the neighborhood where Leah, Natalie and Nathan grew up. However, as the novel begins, the neighborhood is run-down, crime, and drug-ridden.

Courtyard

The courtyard is the patch of grass and hammock in between the different apartment uits where Leah and Michel live. Leah often goes down to the courtyard to sit in the hammock. She also smokes pot with Ned in the courtyard.

Graveyard

The graveyard is outside of the church Natalie and Leah visit with Natalie's children. as Leah reads the inscriptions on the tombstones, she relates to each of the lives. Leah also relates the lives of the dead to her own life and what her own tombstone should say.
