Chapters 21 through 24 Summary

In chapter twenty-one, Spider and Jem make their way along the town's High Street and Jem says every person they see has the potential to be an informer. She says the days away from television have made her less concerned about the possibility of being caught but the story in the newspaper has made it real again. She knows there are only four days to go until Spider's date of death. They find a store and Jem goes inside alone to buy some supplies. She buys flashlights along with her other items.
