The structure of this book is casual and straightforward, with Klein using brief, independent subsections to keep her arguments neatly organized. The chapters themselves are grouped into four parts, dedicated to "how we got here," "where we are now," how it could get worse," and "how things could get better" regarding the sociopolitical situation around the globe (13, 61, 129, 187). Klein keeps her sections at a relatively equal length, creating a balanced yet comprehensive conversation of the many workings parts that shaped the modern political system. The physical structure of Klein's book is interesting as well, if only for aesthetic purposes. The width of the text's pages differ, getting gradually longer until reaching a specific length and then shrinking back to original size.
