Grief

The narrative explores the stages of grief through the characterization of Heather, Zoe, and Napoleon. In addition it uses the characters of Ben, Tony, Carmel and Yao to demonstrate that events other than death can cause characters to feel loss and grief. These events include divorce and breakups and the loss of a career.

The characters of Heather, Zoe, and Napoleon exhibit anger, blame, and guilt which are emotions that are consistent with the stages of guilt.
