Summary

Chapter 39, Frances, is written from Frances’ perspective. Delilah is now with Frances. Frances thinks that she has finished, but Delilah tells her she has not. Frances looks at Lars and Tony, then at Ben and Jessica who are kissing. Carmel seems to be trying to look at her hand. She sees a boy sitting with Napoleon, Heather, and Zoe. She asks Delilah about him, but Delilah says that there is no boy. Frances wants to speak to him, but Delilah tells her to stay.

Chapter 40, Heather, is written from Heather’s perspective. Heather is trying to remain lucid and keep Napoleon from having a bad trip. Napoleon cries that Zach is gone. Then Heather has memories of her life with the children. She thinks about grieving. Masha comes and Napoleon says that Zach’s death is his fault. Zoe says it is hers...
