Food

The presence of food, and who is eating it and who is not, represents either communion or discord depending on the situation. When everyone is enjoying food together, as they do at Madonna's restaurant, Fiji and Manfred do, and Fiji and Olivia do, the people are communing together and the relationship is good. Thus the fact that Fiji stays away from the restaurant symbolizes discord or that something is wrong.
