Adventure 32, How Bloedelin Was Slain Summary

Bloedelin, surrounded by a thousand knights, approaches the table where Dankwart sits. Etzel's brother does away with pleasantries and informs Dankwart that he comes to avenge Siegfried's murder. Dankwart tries to change Bloedelin's mind, but when the angry Hun refuses to budge, Dankwart quickly rises and slices off Bloedelin's head. The Hunnish warriors stare at their leader's head lying on the floor then spring upon Dankwart's men. Those who cannot find a weapon grab hold of benches, chairs, and whatever else they can find. The Hunnish warriors flee the hall with the Burgundian soldiers close behind them. Two thousand reinforcements run to Bloedelin's aide while Dankwart calls for someone to send word of his perilous situation to Hagen. Not one.....
