Miramar, Havana

The main setting in both 1958-1959 and 2017, Miramar holds the Perez and Rodriguez houses. This is the wealthiest residential neighborhood of Havana, and although it changes over the decades, it fares well compared to many other parts of the city. This is where Elisa grew up, and where Marisol stays during her visit.

Vedado, Havana

The site of the party where Elisa first meets Pablo, and the abduction of both Luis and Marisol, Vedado is a crucial area of Havana. It is a place where lives are forever changed. As a result of the party, Elisa and Pablo fall in love. As a result of the abductions, Luis leaves Cuba for good with Marisol. This is a slightly more dangerous part of town, and when characters visit it, they take risks.
