Elisa Perez

Elisa Perez is the character that sets this novel in motion. Her death is what spurs Marisol into traveling to Cuba, and it is her love of Cuba that Marisol was raised on.

A sugar queen, Elisa was raised in the wealthiest part of Havana, and she had endless stories of extravagance and scandal. After her family left, she spent the rest of her life in Miami, in exile.
