Summary

Marisol awakes late in the evening in the Rodriguez guest room. She looks out the window to see the ocean, and is again stunned at the beauty before her. Beneath the window, the patio outside the paladar below holds dinner guests. The smell of beans and rice wafts up to where Marisol stands, and she is reminded of the food that her grandmother cooked in Miami. Luis comes into view, waiting on patrons. Another waitress is also serving the tables, a pretty brunette. Marisol hears a saxophone sound below, and Luis walks onto the patio again, playing for the guests. Luis looks up and sees Marisol above, and she makes her way downstairs. She walks into the kitchen of the paladar, and sees that the appliances are very old and used, every inch of the walls and counters utilized in the small space. The...
