Despite her uncomfortable commute and her tiny apartment, Cat believes that she is living a dream because she gets to work in the city. Life in London is fast, competitive, and full of life and energy. When Cat first lives in London, she is full of stress and anxiety and a desperate desire to fit in with her glamorous neighbors. City life is expensive, and Cat feels inadequate because she does not have enough money to experience all of the glamor the city offers. When she returns to London in the end, she discovers that what she truly loves about the city is the career opportunities and energy that it offers, and she learns to love her imperfect life in the city.
