In Chapter 11, Lords of Nothing, Reymundo got into a fistfight with a Spanish Lord named Snake, who believed that Reymundo had insulted his girlfriend. All of the Lords gang up on Reymundo, because he was still not a member of the gang. In a blind frenzy he beat Snake in a one-on-one fight. Gang members traded jibes with Reymondo. He was shocked that his friends would be so disloyal and no longer wanted to join the Lords.

Reymundo went to a high school hangout with several friends from the Lords, including Crazy One. When they saw some members of the white gang Chi-West walking down the street, Crazy one gave Reymundo his gang sweater to hold. In the melee, two Chi-West in their twenties beat Reymundo and took the sweater. Crazy One threatened to kill Reymundo for losing the gang colors unless he got the sweater back...
