Book VII The Perfect Light Summary

Otsu receives a letter informing her of Musashi's pending appointment as a teacher and prepares to join him without realizing that the letter has been delayed some time and that Musashi is no longer in the area. Otsu has been staying with Sukekuro and now takes her leave of him, though he regrets having to allow her to leave.

Otsu has made friends with a young boy named Ushinosuke who, from the first visit to the compound where Otsu is staying, wants to become a samurai.
