Act 5, Scene 3 Summary

This scene takes place at Hero's tomb. Claudio reads the epitaph he has written, which states that Hero died of shame, although he was proven innocent in the end. Balthasar then sings a song asking for Hero's forgiveness. Claudio states that he will return each year to perform this ritual. The men then depart, with hopeful words about Claudio's upcoming marriage to Antonio's daughter.
