Act 4, Scene 2 Summary

The scene starts with Dogberry and Verges working with the Sexton to interrogate Borachio and Conrade. With many misspoken phrases, Dogberry slowly discovers the plot. The group learns from the members of the watch that Borachio has confessed to receiving 1,000 ducats from the evil Don John to discredit Hero.

When he hears the evidence of this plan, the Sexton relates to the others that because of this scheme Don John has quickly left town. He also notes that Hero has apparently died of embarrassment after being accused by Claudio. He then orders Dogberry to tie the two conspirators up and bring them to Leonato's house, where he will go to show the transcript.....
