Act 3, Scene 2 again begins in the garden, with Leonato, Benedick, Don Pedro and Claudio. The men remark that Benedick seems more serious, and Benedick claims to have a toothache. Claudio proposes that he is in love, but Don Pedro points out that this would be out of character for Benedick. They then note that Benedick has shaved off his beard, and that this makes him look younger. After Don Pedro and Claudio agree that Benedick is, in fact, in love, Benedick asks to speak with Leonato alone.
Don John then enters, and tells Don Pedro and Claudio that he has heard that Hero has been unfaithful to Claudio. He proposes to give Claudio evidence of her infidelity that evening (actually Margaret and Borachio at Hero's window). Claudio vows that if.....
