Act 3, Scene 1 Summary

This scene is a mirror of the previous scene. As it begins, we see Hero sending Margaret to arrange for Beatrice to overhear Ursula and herself speaking. After Margaret has left, Ursula and Hero discuss how they will talk about Benedick's love for Beatrice. As Beatrice reaches her hiding place, the two of them talk about how easily they will catch Beatrice in their net and turn her interest toward Benedick.

Once they are sure Beatrice is listening, Hero and Ursula begin to talk about Benedick. Hero tells Ursula that Claudio has asked her to tell Beatrice of Benedick's love for her, but that she refused to do so. The reason she gives is that Beatrice is too disdainful and vain ever to love anyone. Ursula agrees, noting that Beatrice would probably.....
