Carson and Susana only have a few minutes to get out of the compound before the guards get organized, but de Vaca refuses to leave until X-FLU is destroyed. They don their suits and go down to the lowest level where the fail-safe is located. As de Vaca is programming it, they hear Nye's voice over the headsets. He tells them their employment is terminated and if they surrender, he will guarantee their safety. A computer voice confirms the fail-safe instructions with ten minutes to evacuate. They go up to the second level, avoiding Mike Marr as he heads for the lower level. A voice announces they have five minutes.
