Summary

"Chapter 14: Judgment (After Intermission)" begins with a description of “you,” holding a “gavel” and wearing a “robe”; “the actors” reportedly “sit upright” in “the final moments of the trial” (256). Murad sweats, while Aurangzeb looks tense. Mumtaz watches Darashikoh. The prosecutor presents his closing argument. He speaks of the crime, the death of a boy by auto accident. Darashikoh has argued that he is being framed, but the prosecutor argues that there is no real evidence and that Darashikoh, as a corrupt drug-dealer, is not trustworthy.
