Summary

Chapter 21 is titled “Rooftop Revelations.” Walt leads the way to a ladder that leads to the roof while Caleb is banging on the door. There is a huge tank in the middle of the roof and a heavyset man named Albert seated nearby. Caleb arrives, saying he broke a window to get inside. He asks Albert about his boyfriend. Mim puts the clues together and wonders if this is Ahab's station. Albert makes fun of Caleb though Caleb is trying to be threatening. Caleb produces a knife, saying he is not crazy, which launches Mim into a memory in which Barry pleaded with her to take the pills to avoid becoming like Aunt Isabel. Mim had looked directly at Barry and said she was not crazy. She reverts to the present and imagines the horrible scene if Caleb stabs Albert. A...
