M goes on to explain that it is odd that a multimillionaire would cheat at cards. In British high society, it is the only crime that can still finish you off. M says Drax has not been caught but is suspected by the Chairman of Blades, Basildon. If Drax is accused and caught cheating, he would be forced to resign. This would seriously injure his image and the pride of Britain. M wants to prevent this humiliation so he wants Bond, the best card player in the service, to help detect Drax's cheating method and beat him.

Drax only plays bridge, and M says he is not a particularly good player, but he hasn't had a loss in over a year......
