Summary

The novel opens with a map of Pyrrhia, which is a continent shaped roughly like a dragon with notations about the locations of each of the seven dragon tribes and other landmarks. The NightWings currently do not have a kingdom of their own and live in the Rainforest. The Jade Mountain Academy is located between the Rainforest and the Sand Kingdom. The next section is updated information about the dragon tribes, opening with a letter welcoming students to the Jade Mountain Academy and a list of the first 35 students, five from each tribe, making up seven groups known as winglets.
