Chapters 25 and 26 Summary

When the little kids find out at dinner that the grownups have to leave the following day, they get very upset. Sahalia and Brayden even threaten to leave with the grownups if Niko makes the grownups go. Josie and Dean talk it over with Niko. Niko says something just does not feel right about the men. Despite his apprehension, he agrees to allow them to stay for two more days.

The next day, Mr. Appleton is looking for Niko to discuss his and Robbie's departure plan. When the group gathers for lunch, Mr. Appleton tells everyone that the government is evacuating residents that make it to the Denver airport. The kids start chanting that they need to drive the bus to Denver. Mr. Appleton encourages them to each write a letter to their parents so he and Robbie can deliver it...
