Part Two, Winter: Chapters 14-17 Summary

In Chapter 14, the party is over when the body of a naked girl is discovered at the foot of Willa's porch. The police are called and they question those present. Ben finds Willa asleep much later and takes her to bed. He is met outside Willa's door by Nate and the two go to find Adam. In the stable the three men discuss the killings and Ben and Nate ask Adam about Lily's ex-husband. Adam is angry for Lily, thinking she should be safe with him. Lily finds the three men and asks Adam to come in the house where she can give him her history.

Lily tells Adam about her relationship with Jesse. Starved for affection Lily fell for Jesse hard, and they were married before his abuse began. Jesse blamed Lily and she...
