Chapter 6: In which Max Earns a Princely Sum

Max’s luck in finding a job didn’t improve. He went everywhere he could think of but couldn’t find a job. He got hungry and bought a meat pie and sat on a bench in the park to eat it. He was people watching and got sleepy and drifted off. When he awoke, he was being stared at by a young boy. He asked the boy his name, but he didn’t answer. Max looked around and didn’t see a mother or nanny. He picked the boy up and sat him on the bench by him. He probably would have to stay there until his parent or guardian came for him. He told the child that his name was Max.
