Summary

Enid convinces Margery to let her dye Margery’s hair in Chapter 37. Enid is glad Margery looks unrecognizable. They decide to drive to Poum to celebrate being alive. On the way, Enid breaks down crying. She says that Margery thinks she is a bad driver, even though Margery says no such thing. Then she asks Margery to reassure her that she will be a good mother. She tells Margery that she is grateful for all of her help. They have a feast at the local cafe. Margery has a plan to tell Enid she must stay at the bungalow while Margery finishes the expedition.
