Summary

This section addresses "The Trial: Day Four, Thursday, August 20, 2009." It opens with Janine strategizing on how to beat the polygraph test as she was the person who called the insurance agency about arson coverage. Janine fears that if she admits to the phone call, Matt will become privy to the fact that she has been pilfering money from their account to fund the Miracle Submarine. Matt remains preoccupied by what Mary might do, and recalls the night he assaulted her, on her seventeenth birthday. The two drank Peach Schnapps and talked for hours. When they tried to stand, Mary lost her balance and fell on Matt.
