Callie's parent's do not believe the emergency room diagnosis and insist she go to Dr. Philobosian one more time. Dr. Philobosian refers her to an endocrinologist who takes a large blood sample. That night, Callie listens at her parents' bedroom door trying to find out what is going on. A couple of days later, they are off to New York. Milton and Tessie try to pretend everything is fine, however, Callie can sense that there is a crisis brewing. The day after they arrive, they go to see the specialist.
