Book 3, Tiresias In Love Summary

Callie's mother tells her that she's made an appointment for her with a "ladies' doctor." Callie is not quite sure what that means, Tessie is too shy to tell her, and Callie leaves the conversation feeling like there's something wrong with her. Nevertheless, summer vacation has begun and the family is preparing to take their vacation to Turkey.

Callie has fallen secretly in love with the Obscure Object and on this day is going with her to the pool at the country club. At the pool, the Object prefers to wear bikinis and Callie prefers a full coverage one-piece suit that had belonged to Sourmelina in the 1950's. As they are lounging, the Object's brother, Jerome, stops by and is introduced to Callie.
