Book 3, The Obscure Object Summary

Cal discusses his feeling that he's not far enough along in his quest for mental health as he had once thought. Cal thought that writing his story would get him there, but it hasn't. Nevertheless, he continues with his story.

Calliope is in the spring semester of her eighth grade year. One day during English class, a redheaded girl enters the classroom and tells the teacher she has been transferred to this class. The girl takes a seat across from Calliope. Years later, to himself, Cal will nickname the redhead "The Obscure Object." Calliope forms a crush on the Obscure Object and admires her from afar as she interacts with other classmates and friends.

One day in English class, she has to look on with Callie in order to read aloud in.....
